From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Season three of Black Mirror is quite terrifying, depicting various dystopian futures, some frighteningly close to our own reality (“Shut Up and Dance” in particular).

Even when promoting the show, Netflix has managed to creep everyone out. Their latest two-minute long advert is no exception.

“Introducing Netflix Vista” is basically a mini episode of Black Mirror in which people are able to watch Netflix wherever they are through a bizarre chip and lens system installed in their head.

Instead of enjoying romantic meetings, dinner parties, and trips to the ocean, those with the chip decide to have Netflix shows appear in their vision.

Scarily, when actively watching Netflix, their eyes turn white, reminiscent of how Toby Kebbel’s eyes went in "The Entire History of You”.

Recently, the makers of Black Mirror poked fun at the recent US election result, reminding the world: “This isn't an episode.”

Season three of Black Mirror is currently streaming on Netflix. The Netflix Vista is not currently available but should reach stores soon…
