… Or, as the subtitle goes, "More sounds from the South 1968-75, at the crossroads of rock, country and soul", which sums it up: a 20-track survey of what made southern rock both soulful and folksy, as well as long-winded. (The inclusion of an early "Free Bird" does feel rather like banging the nail clean through the floorboards.)

Other than the Skynyrd, we get Area Code 615, Marshall Tucker, Joe South, Bobbie Gentry (yaroo!), Barefoot Jerry and Cher. Yes, that one.
