Their 2009 debut album saw them compared to Fleet Foxes, who they claimed not to have even heard when they were making it.

But it will be harder to deny the influence of Arcade Fire this time round. (They toured together in 2011.) On the plus side, sounding like an equal-parts mix of two of North America's most successful musical exports is unlikely to harm Local Natives' chances. And there is no shortage of shimmery songcraft here, too.
