South Africa-born but Sydney-raised Jonti Danilewitz is ludicrously well-connected (he's worked with Mark Ronson, Albert Hammond Jr and Santigold), but debut album Twirligig is all his own work.
Or, to be more accurate, all his own play. There's a childlike sense of adventure and fun about his sampladelic approach. Avalanches are a comparison, as are the Beach Boys circa Smile. Then again, so is that dream you had when you were three years old and you still can't shake off.
