Malcolm Middleton, the boy from Arab Strap with the name like a Fox Network sitcom, has pursued a solo path which he admits is characterised by "heart-on-sleeve complaining".

New project HDBA (a translation of the German name for the board game Frustration) sees him actually having fun, after a fashion. "Fun", in his case, meaning meandering instrumentals, Krautrock drums and daft robot voices. It must be noted, however, that the final track is called "Getting Better (at Feeling Shit)".
