The medieval and futuristic rub up against one another on the fourth album from sisterly duo Sierra and Bianca Casady, whose eccentric folk-pop has become subtly familiar via advertising.
There are stylistic echoes from a variety of eras: Kate Bush's The Dreaming, Bugsy Malone, a Forces Sweetheart, and so on. The main drawback is that one of the voices is so similar to that of Joanna Newsom that you check the credits to see if she's providing guest vocals. CocoRosie may be many things, but unique they're not.
