Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

DJ Cassidy has recruited Robin Thicke and Jessie J to star in the retro video for his new single "Calling All Hearts".

The "Blurred Lines" singer has joined forces with The Voice's former coach to offer vocals for the track, with one-time Celebrity Big Brother contestant Danica Thrall also featuring in a speaking role.

Thicke, Jessie J and Cassidy can be seen dancing on a giant heart-shaped 'Paradise Royal' platform, surrounded by flamboyant pink flamingos and palm trees.

Yes, Thicke does dance with some female models, but no nudity is involved this time. His smarmy grin makes a strong appearance though.

Jessie J (“Wild”, “Domino”) was set to team up with Thicke on his US tour, but pulled out in January to concentrate on creating new music.

“Out of respect to my US fans I want to be honest,” she tweeted. “I will not be supporting Robin Thicke on his US tour. My team and I have decided it’s best I prioritise recording/studio and promo to finish the album for my US fans and having the opp for a single to be released for you sooner than later.

“Timing isn’t always perfect but I want to make it work and hopefully have my own shows in the US someday! I hope you understand. I’m sorry to all the fans who were coming.”

Thicke, meanwhile, hit headlines last week following a split from his wife of nine years, Paula Patton. He has made his efforts to win her back public, declaring his love and dedicating "Lost Without U" to her at a recent gig.

The causes for the couple’s separation remain unknown, but his performance with Miley Cyrus last summer and subsequent accusations of infidelity might well have something to do with it.
