Adam Levine strips off during Maroon 5's Super Bowl performance

Rihanna has mocked people for watching the Super Bowl.

The singer was posting on Instagram from a first class flight when she asked followers: “How can we watch Super Bowl on the flight?”

While seen as an endorsement by some fans, the singer quickly followed up the post with a cartoon of image of Colin Kaepernick along with the words: ”For those of you who thought I was watching super bowl... we beefin’.”

Rihanna has previously claimed that Super Bowl organisers offered her the half-time slot, which she declined in protest of the NFL and their treatment of Kaepernic.

Maroon 5 ended up playing the slot, with the group receiving criticism fro across the musical world for accepting the slot. The band ended up cancelling their pre-show press conference.

The halftime show itself was also negative reviews, with The Independent calling it “lacklustre”. Levine took to Instagram soon after, sharing an image of the “One Love” light display that featured during their show.

“When we accepted the responsibility to perform at the SBHTS, I took out my pen and just wrote,” he wrote alongside the picture. “Some of the words that came to me in that moment eventually made their way onto the incredible lanterns that flew high and low tonight.

“We thank the universe for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better. One Love.”

He added: “And the list of words is... Forgive, Laugh, Cry, Smile, Share, Live, Endure, Embrace, Remember, Enlighten, Preserve, Inspire, Sweat, Fight, Express, Give, Receive, Elevate, Climb, Unify, Fortify, Soften, Dance, Scream, Dream, Educate, Provide, Inhale, Exhale, Persevere, Stand, Kneel, Overcome, Love, Listen.”
