From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Psy has offended a South Korean broadcaster so badly that it has banned his new music video for “Gentleman”.
Was it the ungentlemanly behaviour he displays in the pop video? The way he farts in one poor girl’s face? Or the fact that he pulls off another’s bikini top? Leaving another sprawled on the floor after pulling a her chair out?
Nope. Broadcaster KBS has blacklisted the music video because Psy can be seen abusing public property. In the opening sequence the rapper kicks a traffic cone that says “No parking” before laughing uproariously and pointing at the camera.
An anonymous statement released by the broadcaster today said the scene doesn’t meet its high public standards as a broadcaster.
“Gentleman” was published on YouTube on Saturday and has already been watched more than 145,000 times.
It follows the success of the South Korean rapper’s “Gangnam Style” which has become the most-watched video on YouTube with 1.5 billion hits.
