Your support makes all the difference.More than two decades after an acrimonious split and legal action over the band's name, Pink Floyd are to be reunited for the Live8 concert in Hyde Park, London, it has been confirmed.
Bob Geldof referred to bands "trying to resolve differences of many years" when he announced the concert nearly two weeks ago. The reunion will be the first time Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason, Richard Wright and Roger Waters have come together since they performed The Wall at Earls Court in 1981.
Gilmour said yesterday: "I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increase aid to the Third World. Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context it's got to be worthwhile."
Roger Waters left the band in the early 1980s. When the other members decided to carry on without him, he launched a legal battle over the name and use of his songs and lost.
