From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Scottish singer Paolo Nutini has postponed his second show after being diagnosed with severe tonsillitis.

He had been due to take to the stage at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow last night and tonight but "following medical advice" had to call off the gigs.

The Paisley-born singer is due to play in London on Thursday as part of his European tour, with dates in cities including Paris and Milan next month.

Promoters said fans with tickets for the gig should keep them and look out for the rescheduled dates.

"We wish to sincerely apologise to all ticket holders for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused. We thank you for your patience and understanding," a statement on Nutini's website read.

Disappointed fans took to Twitter and Facebook to ven. Many complained they had paid for travel and hotels, but others wished the singer a speedy recovery.
