From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Golf clubs and dinner parties are not normally the reserve of heavy metal rockers, but that’s what Ozzy Osbourne has in store for punters at his new Ozzfiesta festival.

The five-day event in Mexico will include performances by Ozzy Osbourne and his band, as well as a comedy night, charity golf tournament, dinner party hosted by Sharon Osbourne and an “intimate beachside closing night performance”.

The festival, which takes place at the five star Hard Rock Hotel in Mexico next year, will cost $1,899 (£1187) for adults, $499 (£312) for children and $100 (£63) for toddlers.

The first 500 rooms sold in the “luxurious resort” will also include a meet and greet with the Black Sabbath singer, according to the festival’s website.

Osbourne has previously held a series of annual Ozzfest events in the US, but his Ozzfiesta marks the first time the singer has taken his festival to Mexico.

The singer and his wife Sharon, who also works as his manager, created the first Ozzfest in 1996, which has since seen performances from Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, System of a Down and Black Label Society.
