MTV EMAs 2014 nominations: Ariana Grande and Katy Perry lead pack

Your support makes all the difference.Nominees have been announced for the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards - with “Roar” singer Katy Perry out in front with seven nominations.
Music fans can vote for their favourite artist at mtvema.com between now and 8 November, ahead of the ceremony to be held at The Hydro in Glasgow on 9 November.
US pop star Ariana Grande has netted nominations in six categories, while “Happy” singer Pharrell Williams and Aussie exports 5 Seconds of Summer are both up for five awards.
Representing the UK are boy band One Direction and soul singer Sam Smith, each with four nominations.
And fan groups have also been given the opportunity to vote for their favourite artists via the Biggest Fans category. Social media users on Twitter and Instagram can vote using the hashtag #EMABiggestFans along with the artists’ names.
