Mick Jagger rehearses for Rolling Stones tour

Rolling Stones star Mick Jagger has announced his big return to touring and performing in an Instagram post. The musician underwent surgery earlier this year to replace a valve in his heart.

“Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow” he posted on Thursday, alongside a picture of himself striking an excited pose in an empty stadium.

The band are due to play tonight (21 June) at Chicago’s Solider Field, with a second show at the venue scheduled for Tuesday 25 June.

These tour dates comprise part of The Rolling Stones’ No Filter tour, which was originally supposed to start on 20 April in Miami but had to be postponed.

Tracks such as “Paint It Black” and “Sympathy For The Devil” have been confirmed to be on the setlist for the next two shows.

A teaser video was also posted on the band’s official Twitter account this week, showing the Stones frontman playing electric guitar and looking fighting fit for his return to the stage.

The band were forced to cancel numerous dates from their tour earlier this year when Jagger, 75, was told by medics that he wasn’t able to continue performing.

All the cities previously postponed are locked in, and a new date has been added for New Orleans.

Tickets sold for the original dates will be honoured, but those who aren’t able to attend can get refunds from their Ticketmaster accounts.
