Sitting on stage wearing a bizarre pink costume, Madonna decided to cover Britney Spears’ “Toxic” at Miami’s Art Basel.
However, rather than performing a straight pop-cover of the record, the singer decided to slow things down a little and add a political message to affairs.
When the lyrics “Don't you know that you’re toxic” echoed out of the speakers over the minimalist beat, President-elect Donald Trump’s face was projected onto huge screens behind Madonna.
The message wasn’t exactly subtle: quotes from the republican, including those infamous soundbites about building a wall, were shown as the chorus was sung multiple times.
The event the 58-year-old was performing at on 2 December - which saw numerous stars raise $7.5million (£5.9m) for Malawi - was attended by the likes of Ariana Grande and Sean Penn. Madonna’s entire performance can be watched on Facebook - the show lasting over an hour.
