From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Lana Del Rey has set tongues wagging with a 15-second teaser clip of her forthcoming video for single Ultraviolence.

Six days ago the Born to Die singer published a still from the video on her Instagram account with the accompanying words: “Vice now running s**t. Starting w[ith] Ultraviolence.”

Just as she mentions, the teaser footage for the latest song was released yesterday via Vice’s music channel, Noisey.

Ultraviolence is the title single from the 29-year-old’s third studio LP.

The teaser clip is for the opening of the track and shows Del Rey dressed as a bride in grainy, retro-inspired footage true to form.

The single, which was produced Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, is the second from the album and will go on sale 17 August.

Ultraviolence, the album, is currently number 18 in the UK charts having spent six weeks there and reaching number one upon its release.

It was her second number one album after Born to Die also topped the charts in 2012 - currently it's number 22 in the charts.

Her video for ‘West Coast’ has been nominated for an MTV Music Video Award for Best Cinematography. Results are announced on 24 August.
