The rapper, who revealed his new video for “Only One” exclusively on the Ellen DeGeneres show last night, features his one-year-old-daughter North in the clip, which has been filmed to look like a home video.
West and North are pictured on a father-daughter outing in the foggy countryside, with toddler North staring in bewilderment at the size of her Dad’s walking boots.
The amateur-looking video is a far cry from West’s CGI-inspired “Bound 2”, featuring wife Kim Kardashian writhing on a motorbike.
“Only One”, which features Paul McCartney on the keyboard, is told from the perspective of West’s late mother, who implores the singer to “tell Nori [North] about me”.
The single marks a departure from the rapper’s last album Yeezus, and sounds more like a hymn-like ballad – albeit a highly Auto Tuned one.
West and McCartney recently featured on Rihanna’s new single “Four Five Seconds”, which the singer released at the weekend.
The three artists are rumoured to perform together at the Grammy Awards next month.
