Kaiser Chiefs' guitar heavy comeback
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The 'I Predict A Riot' rockers have been on a two year hiatus, but say their return later this year will come at the right time, as they feel guitar music is returning to the charts.
Drummer Nick Hodgson told the Daily Star newspaper: "It's all going in the right direction.
"We're busy. The writing started a long time ago, like a year-and-a-half ago. It's just been on a nice steady pace because we've had a lot of time off.
"I like the fact that guitars are beginning to creep back in and it's exciting.
"I like all kinds of music but when I hear something I really like it normally has loud guitars in it and I'm starting to hear more of that everywhere."
Lead singer Ricky Wilson - who stars in the band alongside Nick, Andrew 'Whitey' White, Simon Rix and
Nick 'Peanut' Baines - added he's looking forward to getting back on the festival circuit, with the band confirmed for the Gurtenfestival in Switzerland in July.
He said: "The first I heard about the Swiss show was when it went on the internet! But we're on the posters so it must be happening."
No release date is yet set for the Kaiser Chiefs' new album, which will follows up to 2008's 'Off With Their Heads'.
