Jay-Z new album 4:44: Snoop Dogg downloaded a bootleg because he doesn't have Tidal

'My nigga had to bootleg it to me'

The release strategy for Jay-Z's new album, 4:44, was so confusing that even Snoop Dogg - who could presumably get Hov to hook him up with one phone call - turned to piracy.

"I wanna shoot a shout out to Jay-Z, just dropped another motherfuckin' hot album, 4:44," he said.

"But you know what, I don't got Tidal so my nigga had to bootleg it to me. I'm on iTunes and shit coz I don't understand it y'all gotta explain it to me. I went to iTunes looking for his album and I couldn't find it. But my homie sent it to me you understand me."

Released on Friday, 4:44 is only available to Tidal customers who subscribed before 26 June, unless they're on the Sprint network.

Snoop went on to big up Jay, and perhaps reference the recent backlash against his Young Thug-targeting music video.

"But shout out to Jay Z my nigga, he did it again," he said, "See I ain't no hater, I love the game - for what it's worth - the young niggas and the old niggas.

"Practice that, practice showing love, practise supporting other motherfuckers other than yourself."

Jay's new album was a personal one, referencing his infidelities, his mother's sexuality and taking shots at his friend Kanye West.
