The 59th Eurovision song contest has kicked off in the Copenhagen, Denmark.

There are 26 countries competing in the final this year. Britain is pinning its hopes on Molly Smitten-Downes, the 27-year-old from Leicester, is representing the UK with her song 'Children of the Universe'.

The singer told The Independent that she is “going in there to win” with her self-penned song and will be the last act to perform tonight.
