Glastonbury 2016 line-up: are ZZ Top the first act to be announced?

It looks like rock trio ZZ Top could be the first act confirmed for this year's Glastonbury Festival.

Keen-eyed fans looking to attend an upcoming show at Amsterdam's Heineken Music Hall noticed the claim in a statement on their website:

"ZZ Top comes in June and July 2016 for 20 concerts which are all part of their new roadshow to Europe. The Hell Raisers Tour kicks off in Birmingham to travel further then to the renowned Glastonbury Festival in Pilton," the site wrote.

Any mention of the Festival has since been removed and no confirmations have been made.

At this stage, it is not known in what capacity ZZ Top, whose hit songs include "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Gimme All Your Lovin'" would be playing – although it's believed they wouldn't be headliners.

Glastonbury Festival 2016 will take place at Worthy Farm from 22-26 June. No headline acts have currently been confirmed, however, Muse, Coldplay and Adele are all bookies' favourites.

Also tipped are Foo Fighters who were set to headline the Pyramid stage last year before pulling out when frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg.
