The Late Late Show has confirmed Foo Fighters will feature in a new Carpool Karaoke segment.

Of course, the band is pretty much the next logical step for the talk show, with Carpool Karaoke now becoming something of a mainstay for popular musicians: from Chris Martin to Lady Gaga, and Bruno Mars to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Foo Fighters also happened to release their ninth album Concrete and Gold last week, which makes an appearance perfectly timed, as well.

The news was unveiled on The Late Late Show's Twitter account, posted alongside a GIF of frontman Dave Grohl rocking out in the car and screaming, "Are you ready?".

To which everyone else - bandmates Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, and host James Corden - heartily replies, "Yeah!" It's been confirmed that the segment will air on The Late Late Show this week.

Foo Fighters also celebrated their album release by opening up their own pub. The Foo Fighters Arms is situated at 339 Cambridge Heath Road, London E2 9LH and is open for business until 20 September, selling exclusive merchandise and limited edition items.

Frontman Dave Grohl recently revealed that Justin Timberlake is the mystery pop star who sings on the band's new record, after they struck up a friendship while recording at the same studio in LA.

"We'd drink whiskey in the parking lot," he told Rolling Stone. "He was really, really cool. Then the night before his last day, he says: 'Can I sing on your record? I don't want to push it, but - I just want to be able to tell my friends.'"
