The 70-year-old musician is set to confirm plans for “a new venture” following his Las Vegas residency which is due to come to an end in May after six years.
Reports from The Mirror suggests that the “Candle in the Wind' singer will announce his final world tour before retiring.
The Independent reached out to his representatives who would not confirm these reports.
Sir Elton has enjoyed an illustrious career selling over 200 million records.
Just last year, the singer-songwriter cancelled nine shows in the US due to a "potentially deadly" bacterial infection he contracted during the South American leg of his tour.
John will perform at this Sunday's Grammy Awards (28 January) alongside Miley Cyrus followed by a special concert at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday (30 January) during which he'll duet with Chris Martin, John Legend and Kesha.
