Ed Sheeran releases new song Afterglow: ‘It’s just a song I love’
Singer-songwriter released his last project in 2019
Ed Sheeran has released a new song, “Afterglow”, after teasing new music over the weekend.
“Hey guys. ‘Afterglow’ is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you," the singer-songwriter wrote on Instagram.
“It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love, and hope you love too. Enjoy ! Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x.”

“Afterglow” marks Sheeran’s first release in almost 18 months. His last new music was 2019’s No 6 Collaborations Project, which featured guest spots from Stormzy, Justin Bieber, Cardi B, Camila Cabello and more.
Sheeran recently donated an artwork to an auction raising money for young people and children in need.
The auction marked the first and only time one of Sheeran’s paintings has gone on sale. He has previously said he paints purely for enjoyment.
In November, it was reported that Sheeran donated £10,000 to the hospital that cared for his late grandmother, which will go towards buying musical instruments for patients with dementia, special needs and audiovisual disabilities.
Earlier this year, he donated £170,000 to his former school to provide key equipment for students.
