Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington dies aged 41

Tributes to Chester Bennington are pouring in after the Linkin Park frontman apparently took his own life age 41.

The singer's passing has caused shockwaves around the music industry. He was known as one of the pioneers of the nu-metal genre.

Linkin Park had released a new video just hours before reports of Bennington's death emerged.

"Talking To Myself" was released at 9.01am, reportedly just minutes after Bennington's body was discovered at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates.

The song was a single released from the band's album One More Light, which came out in May 2017.

Comprised of video clips from the band's live shows, it features several shots of Bennington himself performing onstage.

The lyrics in full are as follows:

Tell me what I've gotta do
There's no getting through to you
The lights are on but nobody's home (nobody's home)
You say I can't understand
But you're not giving me a chance
When you leave me, where do you go? (Where do you go?)

All the walls that you keep building
All this time that I spent chasing
All the ways that I keep losing you

The truth is, you turn into someone else
You keep running like the sky is falling
I can whisper, I can yell
But I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself
Talking to myself
Talking to myself
But I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself

I admit I made mistakes
But yours might cost you everything
Can't you hear me calling you home?

All the walls that you keep building
All this time that I spent chasing
All the ways that I keep losing you

The truth is, you turn into someone else
You keep running like the sky is falling
I can whisper, I can yell
But I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself
Talking to myself
Talking to myself
But I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself

The video ends abruptly and shows Bennington walking away from the microphone.

The singer wrote a moving letter to his friend, Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, after his dead in May 2017, which you can read here.
