Charlamagne tha God clashed with conservative personality Rush Limbaugh over his “delusional” views on white privilege during a radio show.

The pair were speaking about the death of George Floyd in a pre-recorded segment for The Breakfast Club on Monday (1 June), and Limbaugh stated he was “sickened” by the “senselessness” of the police officers involved.

However, when the show’s co-host Charlamagne tha God – real name Lenard Larry McKelvey – asked: “How are you going to going to use your privilege as a white male to combat this prejudice?,” Limbaugh replied: “Now wait a minute, I don’t buy into the notion of white privilege.”

Limbaugh continued: “That is a liberal political construct right along the lines of political correctness. It’s designed to intimidate and get people to shut up and admit they are guilty for doing things they haven’t done. I don’t have any white privilege.”

Charlamagne tha God said Limbaugh was “being delusional”, adding: ”You know what white privilege is? What happened to George Floyd would not have happened to a white man.”

Protests have taken place around the world after Floyd died in Minneapolis after a police officer named Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for over eight minutes.

Chauvin was fired, arrested and charged with third degree murder and manslaughter.
