A statement from her publicist about the cancelled date in Antwerp yesterday read: “Beyoncé has been advised by her doctors to rest as a result of dehydration and exhaustion and will not be able to perform in Antwerp, Belgium, tonight.”
The singer posted a handwritten note to Twitter this morning apologising to her fans. It read: “To my dearest fans in Antwerp. I've never postponed a show in my life. It was very hard for me. I promise I will make it up very soon. I'm sorry if I disappointed you.
“Thank you for your concern. I'm feeling much better now, and I'm ready to give you a great show. See you tonight. All my love, Beyoncé.”
The missed gig has fuelled further online rumours that the singer might be pregnant, after the New York Post reported that sources close to the star had told the paper she was expecting.
But other insiders have denied the rumours, with one source telling People magazine: “Beyoncé and Jay are planning for another baby after her tour is over and things calm down just a bit.”
The singer told Oprah Winfrey in February that she would like to have another child to keep daughter Blue Ivy company, but indicated it would be after her Mrs Carter world tour. “I definitely want another child. After this next tour, maybe I’ll have another baby,” she said.
The “Single Ladies” singer is currently on the Europe leg of her world tour, which marks her return to music after taking a year off since the birth of Blue Ivy.
