Your support makes all the difference.Lauren Laverne has announced that this year’s 6 Music Festival will take place on Newcastle’s Tyneside.
Hot Chip, Royal Blood, Neneh Cherry and The War on Drugs are confirmed to perform, along with Maximo Park, Interpol, Young Fathers, Ibibio Sound Machine, Sleater-Kinney (first UK gig in a dcade) and Jon Hopkins also appearing.
Jungle, Villagers, The Fall, The Charlatans, Gruff Rhys, Public Service Broadcasting, Kate Tempest, Wire, Father John Misty, LoneLady and Ghostpoet complete the line-up.
The event will run from 20 to 22 February after last year's successful launch at The Victoria Warehouse in Manchester.
More than 50 bands and artists are expected to join the line-up for three days of live music across several different venues.
6 Music Festival by Night will be hosted by the O2 Academy Newcastle and the Sage, Gateshead with tickets going on sale at 10am this Friday 20 January.
"Last year's first ever 6 Music Festival was an incredible weekend featuring a fabulous line-up of music plus conversation at the Festival Fringe," said Laverne.
"It was great to meet so many of our listeners as we listened to the great and good perform together. This year's 6 Music Festival is going to be one to remember."
