Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The Sherlocks are comprised of two sets of brothers - Kiaran Crook (lead vocals), Brandon Crook (drums), Josh Davidson (lead guitar) and Andy Davidson (bass guitar).

They're a fresh, earnest group based in Sheffield who already have slots at Reading/Leeds and the Isle of Wight Festival under their belts.

After noticing that on a few tracks these guys sound A LOT like indie rock band the Pigeon Detectives (remember them?) I did some detective work of my own and found that the Sherlocks have actually been working with producer Andy Hawkins, who worked on the Pigeon Detectives' albums.

Watch the video premiere and let us know what you think, and check out the Q&A we did with them below.

Q&A with The Sherlocks

What have you been listening to lately?

We've been listening to The Flaming Lips a lot in the van.

What's it been like to work with Andy Hawkins?

Andy Hawkins was the first producer we worked with. He's a great guy! We recorded an EP with him a few years ago and the songs really stirred up a buzz around us.

First gig, best gig?

First gig we played was in a little pub in Great Houghton called Sandhills Tavern. Our best gig so far was probably headlining The Leadmill in Sheffield, it was incredible. We've just announced we are returning to headline The Leadmill in June.

The Sherlocks are headlining The Leadmill on 3 June
