Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold remains at the top of The Hype Machine's most blogged artists chart on March 14. Swedish singer Fever Ray holds onto second place while Oupa, the new side project of Yuck frontman Daniel Blumberg, climbs into third.
American instrumental indie band Explosions in the Sky, hailing from Texas, is set to release its sixth studio album, Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, on April 18 in the UK and April 25 in the US. Bloggers are circulating a track from the album dubbed "Trembling Hands" that is "definitely a more dynamic and risky side of Explosions in the Sky never before seen," writes blogger Kata Rokkar (katarokkar.cribble.net), adding, "you can sense a more upbeat and optimistic band."
UK rock band Yuck just released a new video for the track "Get Away," days after Blumberg announced his solo project, Oupa. Of the new track, Impose Magazine (www.imposemagazine.com) writes, "The garage fuzz is exchanged for stripped down piano and vocals that evoke something other than our derisive Pavement comparisons."
