From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

New Jersey electronic artist Com Truise, aka Seth Haley, is a hot topic in the music blogosphere after releasing three new tracks from his upcoming full-length, Galactic Melt, due out July 5. Also reentering The Hype Machine's chart on May 6 is Los Angeles rapper and record producer Tyler the Creator, thanks to his new track featuring fellow Odd Future singer Frank Ocean.

Com Truise gained some buzz last summer for his '80-inspired EP Cyanide Sisters and, more recently, for remixing tracks from Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy soundtrack. Stereogum (stereogum.com) describes one of the three new songs, "Cathode Girls," as a "romantic beat-jammer binding New Order to Boards of Canada to all manner of '80s synth styles."

Tyler the Creator's new track, "She," is the second single from his upcoming 15-track album, Goblin, set to drop May 10. Of the new single, blogger Sunset in the Rearview (sunsetintherearview.com) writes: "Very lo-fi. Tyler's flow is always super unique and original." "There's a lot of anger conveyed in his music," writes blogger Indie Shuffle (www.indieshuffle.com) of Tyler the Creator's style, but "particularly interesting is that this new track 'She' has a bit of a sexy side to it (courtesy of Frank Ocean)."
