Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The AIM Independent Sessions will kick off on Monday 19th February at The Cobden Club, London, W10.

The showcase night, which has been set up by independent label organisation AIM is in association with eMusic, the world’s largest retailer of independent music.

Each of The AIM Independent Sessions will feature two independent record labels, showcasing their new and established artists.

In February, the showcase will be hosted by the boutique independent label Peacefrog who launched the brilliant platinum selling artist Jose Gonzalez. They will be hosting sets from the hotly - tipped Findlay Brown and haunting female vocalist Klima. PIAS/Wall of Sound will be co-hosting the night with performances from US Soul Funkster Amp Fiddler, who will be previewing tracks from his second album ‘Afro Strut’ and Ivor Novello winner Iain Archer (ex Snow Patrol).

Dj’s include Infadels, Mekon and Johnny Trunk with a ‘non-dj’ set from by PIAS/WoS head honcho Mark Jones; drinks are courtesy of Monkey Shoulder.

You can’t buy these tickets - so register at www.aimsessions.com to receive more information about the artists, special eMusic offers, and the chance to win a pair of guest passes to The AIM Independent Sessions.
