Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Composer - Mozart

What about doing a new requiem? 'Requiem 2'. I'm working on the Casiokids' accounts at the moment, and Mozart's requiem is my soundtrack. It makes me feel that however awful the job is, it could be worse, and there is something beautiful even in something as tedious as accounts.

Production/drum programming - Röyksopp

I've chosen them for their stunning production and danceable, quirky grooves.

Percussion - Airto Moreira

I love his work with Miles Davis on 'Bitches Brew'. He knows when to shine and when to be quiet.

Trumpet - Chet Baker

I find his tone comforting. Also, I think he will look good on stage with this group. Pre the heroin-addict look, I should add.

Double bass - Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen

I've listened to the vinyl version of 'Duo' so much that the sleeve is starting to fall apart. I love his simplicity and clear playing.

Vocals - Ladysmith Black Mambazo

I've chosen them for their work on Paul Simon's 'Graceland'. I hope this vocal group will add some new harmony ideas for whatever Mozart rustles up.

Casiokids' 'Aabenbaringen Over Aaskammen' is out now on Moshi Moshi Records
