'Michael Jackson's sense of rhythm was amazing'
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Vocals - Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton's singing, presence and charm would be great for the lead singer. I adore her acting and her older songs from the Seventies such as "I Will Always Love You", and "Jolene".
Cello - Arthur Russell
He is one of my favourite musicians and I've never seen any footage of him live so I'd be really curious to see what he could do.
Drums - Michael Jackson
His sense of rhythm was amazing and he was an incredible beatboxer, too, so I'm sure he could have played the drums. He would go to the origins of beatbox.
Synth - Erik Satie
I'm not really fond of the guitar so let's have Erik Satie the French composer and pianist instead. Let's have him on the synth though, not piano. He made really melancholic and minimal piano arrangements.
Poetry - Arthur Rimbaud
Arthur Rimbaud could be the lyricist as well as performing poetry. Not doing "spoken word", but just performing poetry as part of the group. He is one of my favourite poets.
Dancer - Leigh Bowery
He was super futuristic but kind of timeless. I don't think of what he did as being really Eighties in any way. He's kind of otherworldly. I think this collection is pretty perfect.
CocoRosie's album 'Grey Oceans' is out now on Sub Pop Records
