Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Experience Hendrix Tour, a set of Jimi Hendrix tribute shows featuring an all-star roster of guitarists, is set to make a second 2010 run, announced tour organizers on August 27. The tour will visit 19 venues throughout the US and Canada from October 26 through November 20.
The concept for the Experience Hendrix Tour began in 1995, when the Hendrix family sponsored the first full Jimi Hendrix tribute concert, and has continued since then with both one-off shows and concert tours. Most recently, a tour in March included several sold-out dates throughout the US.
The October-November run will mark the first time the tour has been organized twice in one concert year, and it also includes the tour's first Canadian dates. The run starts in Pittsburgh on October 26, then moves on to four dates in Canada, followed by a round of US dates, and ending in Indianapolis on November 20.
Among headliners will be Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Susan Tedeschi, Robert Randolph, Los Lobos's David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas, Jonny Lang, Steve Vai with Living Colour, Eric Johnson, Ernie Isley, and bassist Billy Cox, a member of Band of Gypsys
