Film review: The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (12A)
In Hollywood's latest attempt to replicate the successes of Harry Potter and Twilight, a teenaged New Yorker discovers that she is really a Shadowhunter - a half-angel destined to join an age-old battle against demons and vampires, with the help of werewolves and magic runes and a hunky but sulky blond warrior called Jace Lightwood.
The Shadowhunters call ordinary humans "mundanes", which is a bit rich considering how tedious, repetitive and derivative their own escapades are.
