Co-produced by Tim Burton, this cultish sci-fi cartoon depicts a dust-choked, rubble-strewn, post-apocalyptic future inhabited by sentient sackcloth dolls and their mechanical predators.

The setting and the monsters look breathtaking, so it's a shame that the screenplay feels like such an afterthought, with its drab characters and rambling, illogical story. Your best bet might be to watch it with the sound muted, and imagine your own dialogue. It could only be an improvement.
