Will Smith won't be in Suicide Squad 2
According to Variety Idris Elba , who'll be jumping from Marvel to DC for the role; he played Heimdall in the Thor and Avengers franchises.
Smith pulled out of the sequel due to schedule conflicts. The film, written by former Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, will begin shooting in September.
It's unknown just who of the original cast will be returning, though it's strongly expected Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn - who'll appear in female-led spinoff Birds of Prey - will appear.
Elba will next be seen in Netflix comedy series Turn Up Charlie . His forthcoming film credits include Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw and Tom Hooper's adaptation of Cats .
