The actress revealed she was asked to do full-frontal nudity for her latest film, Grimsby, though her contract explicitly has a "no nudity" clause

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Rebel Wilson has revealed she has a strict zero-nudity approach when on camera.
The Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect star told Marie Claire that she was asked to do full-frontal nudity on her latest film, the Sacha Baron Cohen vehicle Grimsby, but that she refused due to a strict "no nudity" clause written into her contract.
"They wanted full-frontal nudity. We write in the contract, specifically, 'No nudity'", she stated. "They got in another girl - this larger burlesque dancer from South Africa - to be a nude double. And they got her to do all this stuff. Sacha would go, 'See, she looks good.' I'm like, I'm not doing it. I don't care what you say."
That said, Wilson admitted she could potentially be persuaded to lift her clause for a more serious role, in a more artistically-justifiable situation; "You want to know that the people [behind the camera] have a certain sensibility and decency. And a lot of times in comedy they're not those people."
Obviously, it's very much a personal choice for actresses when it comes to nudity clauses, but it's great to see Wilson define her own boundaries when it comes to her personal comfort and freedom; as well as standing by those boundaries, and refusing to give in to pressure.
Elsewhere, she expressed her lack of interest in Hollywood ideas of perfection; "'I've always tried to use my brain to get places. There's so many glamorous people in Hollywood I just never want to compete with that... even the men get their skin lasered."
The actress can next be seen in her West End debut as Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, performing at the Phoenix Theatre for eight weeks only from 28 June until 21 August.
