Wayne’s World stars Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reunite in Super Bowl ad
It’s been 29 years since the comedy came out
Wayne’s World stars Mike Myers and Dana Carvey have reunited for a Super Bowl ad.
A clip, unveiled on Sunday, features Myers and Carvey sitting next to each other and riffing about the annus horribilis that was 2020.
“2020, man, that was a great year,” Myers declares. Both he and Carvey then add a drawn-out: “Not,” before agreeing that 2020 was not good.
The duo then move on to the topic of the Super Bowl, which, according to Myers, they’re not allowed to name in the ad due to legal reasons.
“We just wanted to say that we’ll see you soon for the … game,” Myers says pointedly.
Carvey adds: “We’ll see you on the big bowl,” which Myers tops with: “The gigantic bowl.”
Both comedians jokingly agree that the phrasing is “totally legal”.
The name of the product promoted in the ad – the delivery service Uber Eats – then appears on the screen.
Super Bowl LV, the 55th Super Bowl, will take place on 7 February 2021 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Weeknd will perform during the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and poet Amanda Gorman will do a reading during pregame festivities.
