Suicide Squad fans who thought they’d already seen Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress in her full evil glory can think again after new character videos showed the supermodel-turned-actor in a creepy new mystic costume.

Enchantress, real name June Moone, is an artist cursed at a costume party and turned into an evil and powerful ancient sorceress. She is believed to be the “enigmatic, insuperable entity” mentioned in the plot synopsis and has previously been presented with black bedraggled hair, chains, scanty bondage-style clothing and black magic symbol tattoos.

“She’s a feral being,” Delevingne has said. “She’s been trapped for so long and now she’s finally let out. June is an adventure-seeker who’s always wanted some excitement. She gets what she wished for, but in a terrible way.”

David Ayers’ much-hyped supervillain movie arrives in UK cinemas on 5 August, with comic book fans excited to see whether Jared Leto can live up to the legacies of Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson as the Joker.

Leto and Delevingne are joined in the film by Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag. Viola Davis plays US intelligence boss Amanda Waller while Ben Affleck is set to make a cameo appearance as Batman.

The storyline follows a group of villains recruited by a secret government agency to carry out black op missions in exchange for reduced jail sentences. It is expected to perform strongly at the global box office after an impressive marketing campaign with a bold alternative aesthetic.

Take a look at the new videos below, in which the Suicide Squad cast describe themselves and what they are bringing to the team:

It feels good to be bad, right? Suicide Squad arrives in UK cinemas on 5 August.
