Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Ever wondered what it would be like to take a ride on a Star Wars speeder, travelling through a desert planet while gazing up at the wrecks of Star Destroyers?
Unfortunately, that will probably never happen - not least of all because you would need to be able to travel to a galaxy far, far away - but we’ve got the next best thing: a 360-degree interactive video.
Disney and Lucas film put the video on Facebook, which you can watch below, created to promote the upcoming Star Wars film, The Force Awakens.

In the video you are on a speeder, travelling through the barren wastelands of Jakku - a planet from the new film. Tuscan Raiders come sweeping in at one point as you pass the massive Star Destroyer, all of which you can look at by dragging your mouse over the video.
There’s a lot to see to say the least. To watch the video you need to have a Chrome of Firefox browser on PC or Mac, and if you want to look at on mobile you’ll need the Facebook app.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit cinemas 17 December.
