Trump claims Minneapolis a 'laughing stock' for George Floyd protests

Samuel L Jackson has poked fun at President Donald Trump for hiding out in a White House bunker during protests against the death of George Floyd.

Anger over Floyd’s death and police racism became so intense that members of the Secret Service took Trump to a secret hideout as an emergency precaution on Friday night (29 May).

Hollywood star Jackson responded to these reports on Twitter, writing: “No way that Muthaf***ah was hiding out in the basement!! He said he was watching the Secret Service Ninjas kick protester a**!”

Jackson continued, referencing the tear-gas and rubber bullets being used on protesters: “He was about to jump down there & hahahahahaha.... he’s a whole pack of busted rubbaz!!! [sic]”

Protests have taken place around the world after Floyd died in Minneapolis after a police officer named Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for over eight minutes.

Chauvin was fired, arrested and charged with third degree murder and manslaughter.

Since the protests, which has seen large cases of looting take place, Trump has sporadically tweeted random words and phrases, such as: “STRENGTH!” and “LAW & ORDER”, and urged cities to call in the National Guard to stop demonstrations. “These people are ANARCHISTS,” he wrote.

Jackson wrote: “Did we just get Martial Lawed??! So, he just Declared War on The Public??!! It’s not 1807 this is not Rebellion!!, but I think it’s about get all kinds of f***ed up here!! [sic]”

In the wake of Floyd’s death, some of the leading names in the music industry are participating in “Blackout Tuesday” amid calls for change.
