Rogue One finally hit cinemas across the world over the weekend, impressing many fans of the series and bringing Star Wars Rebels character Saw Gerrera to the big screen.

Played by Forest Whittaker, the character was created by George Lucas for the unmade live-action TV show Underworld. Until now, Gerrera has only appeared in animated form.

Thanks to promotional material for season three of Star Wars Rebels, spotted in American Toys R Us stores, we have confirmation Gerrera - voiced by Andrew Kishino - will return to the series.

Rebels is currently set two years prior to the events of Rogue One, with Gerrera having yet set up his base on Jedah (plus, he still has his real legs).

Meanwhile, Rogue One has been breaking box office records, having the second highest grossing December opening weekend of all time, only falling behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The film has also brought up some interesting ethical questions surrounding a certain CGI character. Rogue One is in cinemas everywhere - except China and South Korea - now.
