Quentin Tarantino fans call for director’s final film to be Kill Bill 3: ‘It’s time’

He previously said it would be the only sequel he'd consider making

Kill Bill fans are calling on Quentin Tarantino to make a third film – and they know exactly what it should focus on.

The 2003 movie set itself up for a future instalment in one of its first scenes. After The Bride (Uma Thurman) kills Vernita Green (Vivica A Fox), she notices her young daughter witnessed the entire thing.

The Bride, understanding the gravity of what the girl has seen, tells her: “It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that I’m sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it coming. When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I’ll be waiting.”

Tarantino has always hinted that a third outing – following on from 2004’s Kill Bill Vol 2 – could see a grown-up version of Green’s daughter take on Thurman’s character.

But, with every new film, it seemed less likely considering Tarantino has made no secret of the fact he wants to retire after making 10 films. If he sticks to this, his next film will be his last.

Despite this, fans cannot help but notice that, after 17 years, Green’s daughter would be ready to take on The Bride.

In a tweet that did the rounds on social media on Thursday (9 July), Jesse McLaren wrote: “It’s 17 years later. Time for this sequel.”

Just last year, Tarantino told the Happy Sad Confused podcast: “Me and Uma have talked about it recently, frankly, to tell you the truth. I have thought about it a little further. We were talking about it literally last week. If any of my movies were going to spring from my other movies, it would be a third Kill Bill.”

Tarantino’s most recent film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, was his biggest hit yet. it grossed $374.3m (£297m) at the global box office, and won two Oscars, including Best Supporting Actor for Brad Pitt.

A recent theory about the film suggested that Leonardo DiCaprio's character, the actor Rick Dalton, was the one playing the villainous role of Calvin Candie in 2012 film Django Unchained.
