Oscars 2018: Taraji P. Henson makes subtle dig at Ryan Seacrest on red carpet

Taraji P. Henson made a subtle dig at Ryan Seacrest while she spoke with him on the Oscars red carpet.

The Empire actress is attending the 90th Academy Awards ceremony in support of her friend Mary J. Blige who is nominated for two Oscars.

E! red carpet host Seacrest had made it through two hours of the awards show without anyone making a negative comment towards him on-camera.

But when Seacrest stopped to chat with Henson about supporting her friend's journey to the Oscars, she took the opportunity to diss him on camera.

“You know, the universe has a way of taking care of the good people,” Taraji told Seacrest during their conversation. “You know what I mean?”

The comment might have seemingly been directed at her friend Blige at first glance.

But Henson lifted her hand during her comment to give Seacrest a nudge on the chin making sure he and the audience knew that comment was directed at him.

Prior to this year's Oscars, several celebrities have been faced with sexual misconduct allegations.

Seacrest first faced sexual misconduct allegations last fall, which he has unequivocally denied.

Last week, he was hit with a second set of allegations from former stylist Suzie Hardy for “grinding his erect penis against her while clad only in his underwear, groping her vagina, and at one point slapping her buttock so hard that it left a large welt still visible hours later."

In a statement, the E! host denied the allegations saying, "This person who has accused me of horrible things offered, on multiple occasions, to withdraw her claims if I paid her millions of dollars. I refused."

He added, “I have worked extremely hard to achieve my success and I don’t take my opportunities for granted. I don’t want to accuse anyone of not telling the truth but in this case, I have no choice but to again deny the claims against me, remind people that I was recused of any wrongdoing, and put the matter to rest.”

So far, Henson is the only celebrity who has thrown shade at Seacrest, but the night is still young.
