On Home Alone's 25th birthday, here's what it would have been like if Joe Pesci was allowed to be Joe Pesci

It's obviously NSFW.

Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

As Home Alone celebrates its 25th anniversary of release, the wonders of video editing have offered us a glimpse of what the movie would be like if Joe Pesci were allowed to do what Joe Pesci does best. And that's swear. A lot.

This re-edited selection, by YouTube user 'Failuresville', taken from the beloved family movie finally makes some of its ridiculous, weirdly gratuitous violence seem a least a little more realistic; there's no way someone's going to suffer through that many crowbar beatings and prat falls without dropping a good chorus of f-bombs. Splice in a little of Pesci in his usual, Goodfellas persona and this film might genuinely be slightly improved. For adults, at least.

Seriously, it's disturbing how well this works.
