Matthew Mindler, a former child actor who portrayed Steve Coogan’s son in the comedy film Our Idiot Brother, has been reported missing.

Pennsylvania police are asking for help after the 20-year-old vanished, having last been seen on Tuesday (24 August).

In a series of tweets posted by Millersville University, where Mindler is a first-year student, it was confirmed that the former actor was last seen walking from his on-campus residence wearing a hooded Millersville sweatshirt with black stripes on the arm.

Mindler has not responded to calls from his family, the tweets read.

“University Police are in contact with Matt’s mother and are working with campus staff for assistance in locating Matt,” read another tweet.

Local police have also been notified of Mindler’s disappearance.

The former actor portrayed the young son of Coogan and Emily Mortimer in Our Idiot Brother, which starred Paul Rudd as a bohemian layabout who regularly clashes with his family.

While Mindler’s mother confirmed to local press that her son had not acted in some time, his credits also included the soap opera As the World Turns and a number of short films.

Those with information about Mindler’s whereabouts have been asked to contact Millersville University Police at 717-871-4357 or Chief Pete Anders at 717-871-5972.

Information can also be confidentially reported through the Millersville LiveSafe Safety App.
