Leonardo DiCaprio to star in Quentin Tarantino’s Manson movie

Other than appearing at the occasional star-studded boat party, Leonardo DiCaprio has remained away from the public’s gaze since winning an Oscar for The Revenant.

However, that’s all about to change. DiCaprio’s name has been attached to a handful of new projects, including an adaptation of The Black Hand, a Martin Scorsese-directed Theodore Roosevelt biopic, a Scorsese adaptation of Killers of the Flower Moon, and a Leonardo Da Vinci biopic.

According to Deadline, the actor has now signed onto Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming ninth movie, marking their second collaboration following Django Unchained.

Last year, Sony managed to outbid all other studios to scoop the untitled project which will take place in 1969 Los Angeles, the Manson murders serving as a backdrop. DiCaprio won’t be playing the famed murderer, though, instead taking on the role of as-yet-unnamed “ageing actor”.

Margot Robbie — who became a household name after co-starring with DiCaprio in Scorsese’s Wolf of Wall Street — has been cast as Manson murder victim Sharon Tate, while Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are also said to be circling the Tarantino movie which will reach cinemas 9 August, 2019.

Meanwhile, Tarantino has been working on an R-Rated Star Trek movie, The Revenant's Mark L. Smith signing on as writer.
