Kyle MacLachlan surprises fans by recreating the viral TikTok ‘Dreams’ video
Viral clip has prompted a surge in popularity for the 1977 hit
Fans have welcomed Kyle MacLachlan's latest addition to the Fleetwood Mac “Dreams” TikTok trend.
In September, a clip went viral on the video-sharing app thanks to user Nathan Apodaca (aka 420doggface208), who skateboarded along to the band’s 1977 song “Dreams” while mouthing the lyrics and drinking cranberry juice from a bottle.
The video was shared widely on a number of social media platforms, with commenters saying that the video was “soothing” and they could only aspire to “be as cool as this guy”.
Since it went viral, both Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks voiced their appreciation for the clip and Apodaca. The duo also shared their own versions of the video.
MacLachlan is the latest celebrity to try his hand recreating the wholesome clip. In a video posted to Twitter on Monday (2 November), the Golden Globe-winning actor can be seen gliding on what appears to be an electric skateboard while sipping from a mug and mouthing some of the song’s most famous lyrics.
The 61-year-old accompanied the clip with a caption reading: “Damn good vibes only," together with an emoji of a steaming cup, referencing his famous “damn good cup of coffee” line from Twin Peaks.
In the few hours since it was shared, MacLachlan’s post has received over 8,000 likes with numerous fans commenting their love of the clip as well as the actor in general.
One user wrote: “You, sir, are a national treasure.” Another said: “I have to say that this is the ONLY thing that gave me even a moment’s solace in the week leading up to election day.”
